The ShootWe had a great shoot in spite of some minor target difficulties. We had 20 shooters and all the benches were filled. Unfortunately, we could not find the target frames. That problem was solved when Bob Weis was contacted and he delivered the frames and the matches proceded. Stan Gurski ran the line, Newt Meeker assisted with scoring and our chef, Joe Lutz, once again provided a great Hot Dog Lunch with all the fixin's.
Scoring was completed by shooters, and verified by Newt M , as our score keeper, Tom Plante was unable to attend. Because the target scores were not recorded and the targets were discarded after the shoot, the winning targets could not be scanned in for this report. Stan reported that we will need to order new NJACC targets for our next shoot as we have used up our current supply. He also reported that the shoot was a great success and actually made some money for the club. Here is a summary of the shoot: Polish Campaign-Paul M using a GEW 98 tied with Russ P using a 98K. Blitzkreig- Russ P using a Norwegian Krag. Continuation War-Larry L using a Swedish Mauser, North Africa- Andy G using a 98k, Stalingrad- Troy I using a Mosin 91/30. Troy also won Sicily using a 1903A3 and Partisan using a M24 Mauser. Normandy was a close one with Troy and Russ but the size of the group gave it to Troy's M1. Handgun events Larry L with a P-08, Allied Auto Steve S with a 1911. Steve also took Allied revolver with a 38 Victory. The OSS trophy was given out but we failed to report the winner and his handgun. Please contact us for the correction. Sniper went to Andy G with his Mosin 91/30 sniper that was made for the Soviet Union, captured and modified by the Finns and recaptured by the Soviets. Andy also cleaned up with his semi auto Thompson. John M did some great semi auto BAR work to win a prize. If any of the participants see any errors or misspellings please respond so I can correct for publication and posting on the internet. Our next shoot is the MemoriaL Day Match to be held on Monday May 30th. The results follow: |
